The Kolpin Gun Boot IV has traveled around the world and back and is an industry standard in hard cases.
The Gun Boot IV is also the only model available in Mossy Oak New Breakup or Realtree Hardwoods camouflage patterns.
Includes a removable, shock absorbing foam and nylon Impact liner that provides superior interior protection within our hard case.
The hard case has an ergonomically designed handle and molded-in attachment points for a sling.
Anatomically designed to accommodate left and right hand bolt action rifles and shotguns, it provides ample room for 50mm scopes and even rifles with slings attached.
Kolpin offers bracket systems (separate purchase) to mount our Gun Boot IV to virtually any ATV or UTV.
These Gun Boots are also a great fit on your UTV with our New Utility Gear Rail System.
First the foam lining is thin but will still snag on your gun (I even tried gluing it inside the case using foam pads to compress the lining which worked until the first time a gun site snagged and then it was a mess getting it free).
Second, there is LOTS of case vibration even with the Kolpin mount (too much to risk ruining my scope zero or risk damage to the scope).
I just carry my rifle slung over my shoulder and a cross my chest while riding.
Turns out to be a problem with manufacturing one or the other.
I installed soft cases inside the boots along with the liners to ensure a snug rattle free fit.
I have not tried the transport model that has a soft case but I like my setup.
I treat my guns/scopes like fine china and I am comfortable using these to hold my guns.
I don’t use it because my scope and front sight snag on it.
Also, after 4 days of riding to and fro to my tree stands, holes wore in the sleeve where the scope rubs.
It does keep the rifle mud and water free, but you WILL NOT get it apart quietly, when you get to your hunt site.
On the trail this boot protects your rifle/ scope; Shotgun, etc.
When using the mount, the unit shakes, but the WHOLE unit shakes, not just the boot.
If you are like me and sometimes use the atv to access remote fishing locations, the boot holds fly rods very well.
Exactly what I needed to outfit my Polaris Sportsman 500 HO.
